With over 30 years of experience, we provide expert metal craftsmanship through our dedicated in-house workshop for restoring original metal window frames and glazing. Our facility can handle a vast quantity of frames simultaneously, ensuring efficiency in our metal window restoration services.
We specialize in the onsite removal of metal frames, which are then transported back to our workshops in Dorset. Here, we carry out the restoration of metal frames by individually shot blasting them back to sound metal.
Repairs are performed by our skilled metal smiths, and each frame is coated in a Zinc rich primer before being finished in any RAL colour in our specialist paint ovens. This meticulous process guarantees low to no maintenance.
Finally, we return to refit each restored metal window to its rightful place using traditional materials and techniques.
The Process
Our team visits to survey the windows as part of our expert metal craftsmanship. A free, no-obligation quotation for our metal window restoration services is provided. Upon acceptance of the work to be carried out, a removal day is scheduled. Each metal window is carefully removed and tagged for reference. Temporary glazing is installed, and metal windows are de-glazed of glass. Each window is shot blasted back to sound metal. Any necessary weld repairs are carried out, including hinge, handle, and stay adjustments. A zinc-rich primer is applied and oven-baked. The chosen RAL colour is then applied and oven-baked as well. The glazing is re-leaded or replaced with our handmade Conservation Grade Double Glazing. A reinstallation day is booked, and our team visits to remove the temporary glazing before the restored metal windows are refitted.

Rust forms on the edges of the frames and from within the rebates. Our shot blasting process removes all rust to ensure a clean pathway for a durable Zinc rich primer and oven baked top coat matching any RAL colour.
